The Main Yoga Shala
Spacious enough to hold up to 25 practitioners, our main yoga shala sits beneath a traditional makuti roof — hand-thatched in the age-old Zanzibari style, letting the breeze move freely through the space while offering shelter from the island sun. It's a space built for group flow and quiet focus alike, where the rustle of palm overhead becomes part of the practice itself. Grounded, open, and unmistakably Zanzibari, this is where community and mindfulness meet.
The Open-Air Yoga Deck
For those who want to practise beneath an open sky, our second yoga area offers exactly that — an outdoor space accommodating 20 to 25 people, set beneath the stars. As the island's evening light fades and the stars begin to appear, this space transforms practice into something more elemental — breath, movement, and the vast night sky, all in one moment. It's a favourite for sunset flows and evening sessions, where the boundary between practice and place quietly disappears.
Together, these two spaces give every retreat group room to move, breathe, and connect — whether under thatch or under stars.
